2nd Storey Gal

I started painting as a way to work through some major personal crisis's back in 1991. But it wasn't until I moved to Cabo San Lucas in 1997 and opened a studio/gallery with my new husband that I really felt I was becoming an artist. Painting a painting doesn't make one an artist, living the life of an artist makes one an artist.

The gallery in Cabo was the catalyst that allowed the artistic process to germinate. Through the ensuing 13 years running a Mexican registered business, learning to paint, experiencing life in a foreign country and enjoying the company of other talented artists I feel that sharing these experiences might help other artists.

I spent a lot of time on our little 2nd storey balcony watching the life in Cabo unfold. The every day experiences I observed were interesting enough that I began to write stories for some magazines and papers in Los Cabos. The by line I used was 2nd Storey View and many people dropped by to say how much they enjoyed the stories, insights and this way of life I wrote about.

Hopefully the “blogging” public will find these stories interesting as well.
